How to launch an ad campaign without surprise spend
The scariest part of ads is the bill. Here’s how to set one up so nothing spends until you say so.

- 1
Decide the one thing the ad should do
A call, a booking, or a purchase. One. An ad that tries to do three things usually does none.
- 2
Set a budget you can lose
Your first campaign is a test. Pick an amount you’d be fine spending to learn that the ad didn’t work.
- 3
Build it paused
Create the campaign and request the push. It stays requested until you approve it, and the campaign is created paused on the ad platform.
- 4
Approve, then turn it on yourself
Approving sends the paused campaign to Meta. Turning spend on is still your call, made inside your ad account.
- 5
Know how to undo it
An approved push can be rolled back from the same screen. Know where that button is before you need it.
HONEST CAVEATS
- Nothing reaches Meta until your Meta keys are connected. Without them, an approved push is recorded but no money is spent.
- GrowPro does not turn ad spend on for you. That’s deliberate.
- Ad platforms change their rules often. If something looks different inside Meta, trust what Meta shows.
